Ong Family History
This blog is dedicated to the genealogy and history of the Ong family, originally of Suffolk, England, with records dating from as early as ca. 1280 AD. The Ong Family History blog follows in the footsteps of "The Ong Family of America" by Albert R. Ong, A.M., M.D. (1846-1906), published in Martins Ferry, Ohio in 1906. Dr. Ong's work, published posthumously, is remarkable for its time and is a treasured resource, especially for its complete transcript of the Ong Family Reunion held in Smithfield, Ohio in 1905. But our access to early records is far superior to the reach of a small-town doctor from the early 20th century, and this page will focus especially on the early English period, Colonial America, and U.S. history up to the Civil War. But anything relating to the Ong family at any time is within scope! We welcome all comments. The editor may also be contacted at ongfamilyhistory@gmail.com. John F.H. Ong Editor, Ong Family History
